Breakdown assistance included

Your warranty includes roadside assistance and recovery across the UK and Europe, provided by Call Assist. If you break down, call:

UK: 01206 812 780 · Europe: 00 44 1206 812 780

Cover also includes emergency key protection and help if you put the wrong fuel in. On warranties of 13 months or more you can also claim back the cost of one annual maintenance inspection, and if your car fails its MOT because a covered component has suddenly failed, Autoguard may help with the repair costs.

How to make a repair request

The most important rule: do not authorise any repairs before Autoguard has approved them. Repairs started without a repair request number cannot be paid.

  1. Take the car to a VAT-registered garage. If the car shows signs of an imminent failure, stop driving it — continuing can cause further damage that won't be covered.
  2. Your repairer calls Autoguard's repair department on 03432 271 499 with your contract number, mileage and the nature of the fault.
  3. Autoguard assesses the request and, if approved, issues a repair request number. Only then should repairs begin.
  4. After the repair, the invoice and paperwork must reach Autoguard within 7 days. Payment is made by bank transfer to you or the repairer.

The most a single repair request pays is the limit shown on your agreement form, up to the vehicle's purchase price in total.

Keeping your cover valid

  • Keep the car serviced on schedule at a VAT-registered garage and keep every invoice — missing service history is the most common reason repair requests are declined.
  • The car must have a valid MOT, tax and insurance at all times.
  • Report any fault within 7 days of discovering it.
  • If your car has a timing belt, make sure it's changed in line with the manufacturer's schedule — damage from a worn-out belt isn't covered.

What's not covered

Like every warranty, Platinum has exclusions. The main ones are:

  • Normal wear and tear as a car ages with mileage
  • Bodywork, trim, glass, wheels, tyres, seat belts and airbags
  • Consumables such as bulbs, wiper blades, brake pads and discs, drive belts and hoses
  • Brake callipers, wiring looms, lamps and LEDs, exhaust systems, seals and gaskets (unless specifically listed)
  • Damage from corrosion, water ingress, neglect, overheating or lack of servicing
  • Servicing costs and service items themselves

Your booklet lists every exclusion in full — please read it so you know exactly where you stand. The warranty is a discretionary maintenance contract, not an insurance product, and it doesn't affect your statutory consumer rights.
